My professional journey
My love for languages, cultures and communication has shaped my professional journey. It all began with a bilingual degree in Translation and Interpreting (2013), which opened doors to a world of cross-cultural experiences.
Professional Memberships
As a demonstration of my commitment to quality, I am currently a pre-candidate at AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters) and a member of CBTI (Belgian Chamber of Translators and Interpreters).
My experience
I have worked at several high-profile events in Brussels, including political working group meetings at the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, United Nations webinars and events at the Committee of the Regions. My expertise spans General Assemblies, industrial sector associations, European Works Councils, international conferences and training sessions for unions. I have also participated in plenary sessions for the Spanish Parliament (Congreso de los Diputados). My work has taken me beyond Brussels to locations such as Jamaica, Athens, Azerbaijan, Berlin, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, the UK, United States and Spain.

Simultaneous
interpreting
If you need a meeting conducted in English to be translated into Spanish, the interpreter listens and simultaneously translates, allowing participants to follow the entire meeting in Spanish without interruptions (the same applies to multiple languages). This format usually requires interpretation booths or portable equipment, and for meetings longer than one hour, two interpreters are needed.
Consecutive
interpreting
The interpreter listens carefully to the participants’ interventions, takes structured notes, and once the intervention has finished, delivers the translation into the requested language. As this is not simultaneous, it requires more time, but it allows for high accuracy and a clear rendering of the message. For this type of service, interpretation booths are generally not required.
Remote
interpreting
This type of interpretation has gained popularity since the 2020 pandemic. Online interpretation is typically carried out through various software designed for hosting meetings or through interpretation platforms (Zoom, Meets, Webex, Kudo, Interactio, Interprefy, etc.). Therefore, the interpreter does not need to travel to the meeting location, eliminating travel expenses and the need for interpretation booths.
Liaison
interpreting
Ideal for negotiations, high-level conversations, diplomacy or situations requiring a high degree of confidentiality. The interpreter translates bilaterally between the two languages of the conversation. For example, in a conversation where one person speaks French and the other Spanish, when the French speaker talks, the interpreter translates into Spanish and vice versa.
Interpreter training
Drawing on my international experience in language teaching, I now focus on training fellow interpreters to refine their skills. I specialize in supporting those who wish to add Spanish as a B language or use it as a C (passive) language. Through simulation exercises and constructive feedback, I provide targeted guidance to help interpreters progress with confidence.
